Rt. Rev. Msgr. Moises Andrade, S.Th.D., S.L.L. 1948-2009

From prodeoetpatria, we post here the sad news about the passing of one of the eminent liturgists of the Philippines (who also regularly celebrates the Holy Mass in the Extraordinary Form):

It is with great sadness that I share the news the passing of Rt. Rev. Monsignor Moises Andrade, STL at 4:30am after suffering a massive stroke last Thursday afternoon. Condolences to the family and close friends of our beloved spiritual father and adviser, Msgr. Andrade.

In paradisum deducant te Angeli: in tuo adventu suscipiant te Martyres, et perducant te in civitatem sanctam Jerusalem. Chorus Angelorum te suscipiat, et cum Lazaro quondam paupere aeternam habeas requiem.

---

Let us pray that the Lord may welcome Him into His glory as His "good and faithful servant."

Msgr.Moises Andrade was my Mother's bestfriend. I grew up in Pasig Manila and my Mom would always take me to his masses and listen to his sermons. I could only reflect on wonderful memories of him. He was truly the kindest filipino I have ever known. I remember as a child we were extremely poor. Mommy raising 6 children by herself with no support from anyone. Msgr. Moises has always lend a helping hand when no one cares. When neighbors criticize and humiliate us he is always there praying and boosting our spirits up. My other sister and I ended up living with my Daddy in the U.S. when I was a teenager. I would never forget the last time he blessed me in Pasig Church for a safe trip and a wonderful life in the U.S. My Mom became deathly ill in 2004 and she too migrated to the U.S. in the late 90's. One of my Mom's wishes was to be reunited with Msgr. Moises and I thank God that it happened. It is also an honor that he baptized my first born baby girl on that same visit. Msgr. Moises will finally be rewarded from God for all the beautiful things that he made happen on earth and God is so proud. The gate of heaven has been opened for him. We love you Msgr.Moises and give Mommy a big hug for me!!

With love in Jesus name!
